The Giddlywunkles and the Beast Beyond the Bog

By Enda Storrie

Callie’s world flips on its head on the May Day she meets a Storyteller living in a magical hawthorn bush at the bottom of her garden. When the Storyteller’s bag of stories is stolen, Callie must lead the Giddlywunkles on an adventure that ends in an epic battle against the Beast Beyond the Bog.

Giddlywunkles

It is May Day when sister and brother, Callie and Buckle Drudge, find a girl about their age living in a hole in the hedge at the bottom of their garden.

It is not an ordinary hole in any hedge, though, but a hocus pocus hole in a magical hawthorn hedge and a gateway between their world and The Other World.

She is no ordinary girl either, but Shauna Kee, the Storyteller, who collects centuries of stories in her spangly bag and tells them they are Giddlywunkles just like her.

The Beast Beyond the Bog

This may be the greatest story of all as the Giddlywunkles go hunting for the Beast Beyond the Bog but Shauna’s spangly bag is stolen from her.

To get it back, the Giddlywunkles have a treacherous journey ahead of them and a final epic battle.

Along the way, they meet weirdly wonderful, new friends and discover that the Beast Beyond the Bog is nastier than the stories foretold.
